The park is a huge area to walk round so be prepared to pay extra for transport or take comfortable shoes. Visiting in July was hot and humid but I can assure you the walk was worth it. As soon as we arrived we made our way to the pandas which were at the furthest most point away from the entrance as we knew that as the day and heat progressed we would be less likely to see them. We were not disappointed ….. we got to see three, one of which was relatively active and sort of posed for photos!
The park is very much like the rest of Shenyang clean and litter free. There were plenty of places to stop and rest, eat or drink. As well as seeing pandas we got to see many other animals including alpacas, bears, seals, a range of birds, elephants, giraffe and tigers, but to be fair we were there for the pandas. It was peaceful and easy to navigate the park and made for a welcome change after the intensity and humidity of the city.
