Plaza de San Martin – Buenos Aires, photoblog

Portenos love their dogs and I was impressed to find a dedicated area in the San Marin Park just for dogs and their owners. It would be great if other world cities took Buenos Aires’ lead on this! Quiet area edged with some fine buildings. The centre is dominated by the park with views down to a tower gifted by the British ex pat community (Torre Monumental) about 100 years ago and this is opposite to a Falklands War Memorial. (Monument to the Fallen in Malvinas)

The buildings which impressed us included the War Museum  and a French looking turreted building which now houses the Park’s Authority. If you wander down the Florida Avenue you will reach the Galerias Pacifico an upscale shopping mall with beautiful ceilings which are worth a visit in themselves!
