The child inside of me had been tittering a lot about the name Foggy Bottom. Staying at Hotel Hive the Foggy Bottom Metro was the nearest station. Very seventies style architecture.
Foggy Bottom is very much a university area, wedged neatly between Georgetown and the main tourist sites.
A couple of decent restaurants close to the station included Circa very much a bistro slash brasserie style with a huge choice of salads, burgers, chicken, fish and you name it. Looking around there were a lot of middle-aged, middle class clientele who no doubt enjoyed the choice of cocktails, wines and beers on offer….I certainly did. Americans tend to eat earlier than us Europeans and whenever we walked by it was packed and why not it’s cosy and has a great atmosphere.
