Whippingham; East Cowes – Isle of Wight

CF565A8F-7BBD-4BA4-89FC-0C440CC291E2.jpegWe discovered Whippingham by accident en route to Osborne House. We parked by the church and after exploring the churchyard  followed our noses along the footpath clearly signed by the side of St Mildred’s. The footpath took us across the fields to Folly Lane with great views down to The Medina River. We found ourselves at Folly Inn a little closer to the river and discovered this  was the area where The Folly Works was located  and where Fred Goatley designed the Cockleshell Canoes ….. you learn something new everyday.
