The Old Harbor Inn………the last stop on the New England road trip and what a stop. We had so made the right choice in staying with Ray and Judy.
It was the friendliest reception on the trip, we were welcomed by one of the staff who sat us down with a mug of coffee and an easy to read map. She highlighted great walks and great places to eat ….. we could not go wrong in Chatham. The room was cosy, with quality bed linen and a convenient back door leading onto the car park. We had baked goods and coffee available at all times. The turn down service included some local chocolate and the menu for the following day’s breakfast. One of the food highlights for me was the French brioche and strawberries with maple syrup and bacon.
Gilchrist and Soames toiletries with white fluffy towels made an end of the day treat with a warm bath after lots of walking. Chatham is ideally located on the elbow of the Cape so easy to get to Provincetown and state parks and The Old Harbor Inn was close to Main Street and its eateries, we enjoyed dinner at The Squire one of their recommendations.
I must also thank Ray as he knew we had hours to kill before flying home from Boston and he suggested a stop off at the JFK Museum and Library at Colombia Point……..we were not disappointed. ‘Til the next time Chatham!
