The Grey Traveller likes to sample a local gin or three when traveling and Padstow threw up Tarquin’s Cornish Gin ….here are my favourites.
- Cornish Crocus Gin sampled at Burgers and Fish on the Strand. Unusual flavour and has a slight yellowish tinge as you would expect from saffron. I mixed with a light Fever Tree and yes I would have it again. I paired it with a Gormet Burger. Great atmosphere and love the hanging light bottles in the windows.
- Tarquin Dry sampled at The Shipwrights a gin with a great view over Padstow Harbour.
- Blackberry at Old Ship Hotel with a warming chilli, great atmosphere.
- But the number one choice for me was Elderberry with a Elderberry tonic enjoyed at The Old Custom House looking out over the harbour after a walk along the Camel Trail.
Cheers Tarquin I will be back to sample more.
