Travelling from Gunwharf with Wightlink is an absolute pleasure. A seamless check in with printed booking firmly placed on the dashboard and directed to a numbered bay we awaited the arrival of our ferry St Faith.
You are advised to arrive about thirty minutes prior to your crossing to ease the flow of traffic and ensure embarking at the scheduled time.
Waiting time passes quickly and if time allows you can jump out of the car and enjoy a coffee at the Camber Cafe and pick up the latest Wight Life Magazine which will inspire and inform the traveller about what to expect on the Isle of Wight.
From the Terminal expect fantastic views over the harbour, perhaps even catch a Naval ship entering or leaving by Spice Island. Look east and you can see the colourful fishing fleet bobbing up and down by the Bridge Tavern overlooked by the cathedral.
….and of course look out for your ferry ready to drive on and start your Isle of Wight adventure.
The Wightlink Terminal is located between Old Portsmouth and Gunwharf Quays in Hampshire, England. The car ferry takes about three quarters of an hour crossing The Solent to Fishbourne on the Isle of Wight.
My journey was courtesy of Wightlink.
