Manuimpathy like it’s sister hotels is boutique, luxurious and once a grand someone’s home. Infact it was one hundred and fifty years old and had been a family home for several generations. Located in district 7 of the city it has a small pool and is an ideal location for a day of sight seeing in this busy, congested city. The reception areas are lined with antiques and they open out onto a quadrangle where the rooms are reached around the pool, dining and garden area.
District 7 is a smart, upscale residential area with a few cafes and bars within walking reach and twenty minutes from the main attractions via tuk tuk. We enjoyed The Bayleaf which was an eight minute walk away.
Th staff are beyond attentive and the breakfasts abundant with both local and western options. Our room was comfortable and the centrepiece was a large bed with mosquito net, tv, safe, plenty of wardrobe space and large wooden doors which opened out onto an outside bathroom with classy toiletries and white fluffy towels.
One of the Manor House Concept hotels no wonder it is at the top of trip advisor’s list!
