Walk from Portchester Castle to Salt Cafe – photoblog

D8DC6449-3F31-4DF8-9F6B-4488E493FE9ADriving through Portchester, Hampshire  you are met with pretty pastel coloured cottages edging the pavements and  Portchester Castle  car park where parking is free. Great views over the north end of Portsmouth  Harbour and Port Solent.

Let your nose follow the coastal pathway west past the sailing club and round the edge of the castle and follow the path. If the tide is out you have the option of walking on the beach.

If it’s a clear day you should see right down to the entrance of the harbour and Spinnaker Tower.

You know when you have reached Salt Cafe when you see the house boats and small wooden pier, enjoy a coffee or a Jude’s Ice Cream before returning the same route. Takes about an hour and half for the round trip.

Portchester is on the south coast of England, west of Portsmouth and east of Southampton.
