Audrey met us at the garden gate of the classy Greycroft B and B and what a great welcome both she and son Tom gave us.
She sat us down in her comfortable sitting room and told us about the area, the fact that we needed to visit Barter Books and answered any question gin or walking based that we had!
Our room was extremely comfortable as was the communal sitting room with mead, sherry and port to enjoy after a day’s walking…….oh and the lovely jelly beans.
I shared a room with a fellow walking partner and our twin beds were extremely comfortable and we enjoyed the refreshment tray after a hard day’s walk….but the piece de resistance has to be Tom’s breakfast. Cooked to order we enjoyed Eggs Benedict and Royale, buffet cereals, fruit and plenty of coffee and toast. A cliche I know ‘but nothing was too much trouble’.
Ideally located close to Alnwick Town, visitors can easily walk to the castle and gardens, A Taste of Northumbria and Hulne Park. Audrey……. I will be back you wait and see!
