Enjoyed the first series of Amazing Hotels which was brought to us by the BBC and we were given an insiders guide to beyond the lobby by Giles Coren and Monica Galetti. The first series saw them visit
- Marina Sands – Singapore
- Ice Hotel – Sweden
- Fogo Island Inn – Canada
- Mishap Lodge – Ecuador
- Royal Mansour – Morocco
- Giraffe Hotel – Kenya
I have walked through the lobby of the unusually shaped building of Marina Sands. It has three towers on the Marina area and for a first time visitor to Singers this is an ideal location for main attractions such as Gardens by the Bay, the Flyer and the river. There are plenty of MRT stations close by.
…………….. but the hotel I would really like to visit is Giraffe Hotel in Kenya so watch this space!…..and I definitely wouldn’t say no to a visit to the others either. If you have been to the Giraffe please let me know what you think, I am eager to hear.
Where are your Amazing Hotels? …………..whilst it would be the popular assumption that all amazing hotels are expensive certainly the ones featured are….I have been to some really amazing hotels such as Samaya in Seminyak and Ubud, Bali, Indonesia and these are closer to being affordable for The Grey Traveller.
