Pegu Club Cocktail

7D404003-22AE-4422-A2DB-032D1E9572CAMaybe I was charmed by the deep orange colour or the colonial history – I don’t know which ……but I do know the bar man on the cruise ship Ananda is a skilled mixologist.

The cocktail is a blend and shake of gin, cointreau, bitters and lime juice named after the Pegu Club in old Rangoon……….. you can almost feel the buzz of the clipped British conversations and the sultry Burmese heat.

The Grey Traveller was cruising down the Irrawaddy from Mandalay to Bagan with  Sanctuary Retreats  and tasted this cocktail in the glorious Kansi Panorama Lounge.
