Finding Your feet is a feel good film with a veritable array of stars particularly appealing to a Grey Traveller of a certain age! The film is based in London and in particular Paddington where Timothy Spall’s character resides on a barge on the Regent’s Canal. He had sold his up his home to fund his wife’s care after early onset dementia. He is good friends with Biff (Celia Imrie) an ageing bike riding hippie who lives amongst candles and piles of crockery and papers in a small flat ….when Sandra (Imelda Staunton) her estranged sister knocks at the door.
Sandra has left the leafy suburbs of well heeled mock Tudor Surrey as her husband of 35 years has been having an affair. So Sandra and Biff try to rub along in the little flat and Biff introduces Sandra to her dance class. Long story short the dancers are invited to the Eternal City and enjoy a care free two day sojourn. So how did Tim get a mooring in Paddington? A fantastic area to tie up to? A great neighbourhood to walk through, a great canal path to walk along and not far from Pimlico Basin. We get glimpses of tall white Paddington houses and interesting Italian alleyways…….as Sandra loosens her stays and her principles and starts having fun.
Everyone deserves a second chance says Sandra when her husband begs her to return, but who is he referring to?
A film to make you smile starring Timothy Spall, Celia Imrie, Imelda Staunton and Joanna Lumley.
Say the trailer and it looks like a really good film. Need to get to see it at the cinema though.

We rarely go to the cinema so it was especially good that we chose a film we both liked!
