Albert Dock , Liverpool – photoblog

4A8B45C6-FC6D-46BE-8937-D9A739170CD9I would have loved to have seen Albert Dock in its hey day but I do love its regeneration as a number one visitor attraction. The vibe is good, the welcome warm and there is plenty to see and do.

If a new visitor to Liverpool  the dock area is easy to find especially if you have parked in Liverpool One. Signposts will lead you to the Mersey and on to Albert Dock. This area is a must during Christmastime as moving illuminations flash onto the buildings, there are huge decorations around the shopping and restaurant area and the boats are bobbing on the water well lit and very festive.

There are a variety of museums including the International Museum of Slavery, The Beatle Experience, numerous shops and restaurants, art and statues and plenty of boats on the water. With great views over the Mersey to Birkenhead there is enough here to keep the most demanding sight seer busy.

The Grey Traveller can recommend a Brockman’s gin and tonic atThe Pump House eating at Panam and watching salsa dancing at Revolucion de Cuba.
