Yes it is exactly as it says on the tin it’s a hotel in an airport terminal. By its very nature it is a convenient place to stay if in transit or if you have an early flight the next day.
Located in terminal 3 of the world’s best airport the Crowne Plaza is easily reached from T1 or T2 via the Skytrain. You can walk straight in to this Singapore hotel lobby without leaving the airport and its lobby is as sleek as the city it sleeps in.
Subdued lighting makes for easy transition to sleep mode whatever part of the day you have arrived in. It’s structure reminded me of a ’60’s apartment block and its rooms very 70’s inspired in limes, creams and beige with a glass partition wall between bed and bath…………quirky or embarrassing you decide! I have come across several hotels which have adopted this style …………….. but why?….does your partner want to see you abluting?
However with The White Company toiletries abluting suddenly seems a whole lot better. With or without an audience …… The White Company seem to be a popular choice amongst hotels chains now and a popular choice with me too! The hotel also provide a toothbrush, ear buds and other personal items which you might have left at home.
I used Bar 75 and the Azure restaurant and both had impeccable service. Bar 75 continues the ’70’s theme with pop art decor and mustard seating. The Azure restaurant offers a wide ranging good value buffet with a la carte if you are not the all you can eat type of traveller. There is a Chinese restaurant, a pool and a spa if your transit time allows. You can also walk back into the public areas of the airport to eat or catch a train into the city.
Would I go there again? Yes I would if in transit through Singers….it does what it says on the tin …………a bed right next to your aeroplane.
