Uber impressed with the Christmas lights in Liverpool they are show stoppingly spectacular, dead classy they are! Fist visit to the city in fifty years and I was not disappointed for a number of reasons. I didn’t come to see the lights but so glad I did!
As the sun went down at about four so the the lights went up and what a great atmosphere round Albert Dock with masts trailed with tiny white lights, hanging wreaths round the shopping and eating area and a featured building by the Pumping House wreathed in moving colours projected onto its facade….. It was amazing.
The Wheel of Liverpool was lit up like crazy as the spikes razzled and dazzled as it circled and although I didn’t go on it I’m sure it would give you another aerial aspect of illuminated Liverpool. Liverpool have also created The Snowflake Trail whereby you can walk the city catching all the decorated and illuminated areas. Leaflets at various landmarks will set you off.
Crossing back over to the Liverpool One shopping area I was immediately met by a beautifully illuminated reindeer and giant tree, many people were doing a round of selfies at this spot.
The piece de resistance for me was the German style market area with the modern coloured rainbow tree, with its bar and shopping area in a German Christmas theme. There are plenty more trees and light decked areas but thank you Liverpool you have done Christmas proud.
